Today we made our way to Dublin on the train from Castlerea. We had a wonderful guided tour of Kilmainham Gaol revising all the history we learned in class and picking up some more very interesting historical facts about the Gaol, the 1916 rising, the 1798 rebellion and the many Irish men and women who served time in the Gaol. We then took a walk to the Four Courts and the saw the famous river Liffey. We also saw a memorial in Croppies Acre memorial park to the people who died in the 1798 rebellion along the road called Wolfetone Quay! Comments are closed.
