World Cup Rugby Blitz!!Carrick NS Boys and girls from 5th and 6th class represented Japan in the Rigby World Cup blitz in Ballyhaunis. This was a very enjoyable day.
Farewell and good luck 6th class!We wish our 6th class of 2019 the very best of luck going forward in secondary school. We held a lovely graduation mass last week and enjoyed a great school tour in Athlone IT this week. Have a great summer!
Rounders DayRounders day was a huge success. It was hosted by Michael Glaveys GAA pitch. All teams from Carrick did very well. The girls team above reached the final losing narrowly to Glanduff NS by 14 to 11.
the boys team also reached the semi final losing also to Glanduff by 11-9. Well done to all the pupils involved. Cycling!!!Pupils received instruction on cycling and cycling safety over the past few weeks. They have made great progress learning lots of information about road safety, signals and bike maintenance. 5th class pupils cycling

A sincere thank you to Anthony Cahill from Cahill’s Supervalue Castlerea for presenting Carrick NS with 7 new GAA footballs. This was a very generous and thoughtful gift to the school and one that will be well used by the pupils and staff.
The Boys from 5th and 6th class had a great success on Thursday 23rd May when the beat Tasrara NS from Four Roads in the Cumann na mBunscol Ros Comáin County Quarter Final for 3/4 teacher schools.
The Game was very exciting with both teams having periods of dominance and both teams leading at different stages of the game. The final score was 6-10 to 6-07 to Carrick NS. The boys really put in a massive effort and showed their skill, strength and determination. We look forward now to preparing for the semi final in the coming weeks. chess in the classroomThe pupils in 5th 6th class have learned the moves and pieces of the game of chess. They are now competing in a round robin head to head chess tournament. Every pupil will play each other once. We are getting closer now to the knock or stages! Good luck to all the pupils.
Electric circuits in Carrick!Pupils worked very hard to create electric circuits. Understanding the difference between series and parallel circuits. This took concentration and team work. All the light bulbs were lit up!
